Baojun joint-venture brand SAIC-GM-Wuling has launched the RC-5 Liftback and RC-5W 2021 models in the Chinese market. Domestic prices start at CNY 59,800 ($ 8,600) for the Baojun RC-5 and 72,800 CNY ($ 10,490) for the RC-5W

Similarly sized to their Skoda Octavia counterparts, the two compact models are available, either with a normal gasoline engine or with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, with a workforce variable of 147 hp. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, while a six-speed automatic transmission is available as an option

The RC-5 and RC-5W adopt the Baojun “Interstellar Geometry” design language, and look identical to the C-pillars. It offers a cargo space of over 470 liters with all seats in place.

The RC-5W also features a second-row reclining rear seat with additional headroom compared to the RC-5 Liftback, as well as “airplane-like” headrests.

According to the Chinese automaker, the two models are equipped with functions typically found on premium models, such as dynamic turn signals, wireless mobile phone charging, memory seats and an intelligent air filtration system.
